So I purchased a Wanhao I3 Mini, this was because the frame of my main printer’s (Prusa i3 style clone) cracked and stopped printing reliably. So I got the I3 Mini as a bridge so I can print the necessary parts to put together a P3Steel, Though I do have a delta (Kossel I3 Mini), […]
Bench PSU / Solder station (Part 2)
After successfully wiring up and testing the power supply I started to make in my last post (here) which incorporated an DPS3005 Adjustable DC Constant Voltage module and a T12 solder station, The next stage was to design a case for laser cutting out of black acyclic. However I wanted to add some USB ports and some fans, After […]
Bench PSU / Solder station (Part 1)
I started to build a bench power supply with an inbuilt T12 solder station. Because all of IT12 solder kits I found require between 12v-24v I decided it would be best to use a 24v LED PSU. as well as a DPS3005 Adjustable DC Constant Voltage power supply module with integrated voltmeter / ammeter, which […]
Mesh Visualizer tool
I have been continuing to have some problems levelling the Kossel printer, So I decided to take a little detour and made a small tool for visualizer the levelling mesh to give me a better indication what is going wrong from one test to another. The tool allows to save various mesh in local storage […]
First print – Kossel Mini
One word, Failure….. It would certainly appear that the process of calibration is far from complete, as you can see from the pictures the printer is printing in a slight convex, i.e. a downward arc from the center to the edge. More adjustments are definitely going to be required…..
Kossel Progress
The kossel project has been a little delayed but is finally starting to get somewhere. The main delay was due my failed first attempt at getting the whole thing together and up and running, which was admittedly a little rushed and during the construction a few of the printed parts cracked. But the main issue […]
Kossel Power Supply Options
Research mode again… The design of the Kossel Mini printer leaves very little room for a power supply so I have been exploring a few different options. Starting with the options for just actually mounting power supplies, from what I can see there are only really three options for the Kossel Mini:
Update on Kossel progress
Quick update, The Z Roller carriages, motors and effector / extruder are all in the main frame (As depicted bellow). I have performed a few tests on the Ramps board and all seems good. Still got to add endstops, ramps, heated bed and inductive sensor, as well as wiring it all up before an initial test can happen. But […]
Kossel Z Carriage Choices
Been thinking as well researching quite heavy lately about the Z carriage for my Kossel build and the various solutions. Basically looking for a good cost effective solution to smoothly move each of three carriages vertically which support and move the effector around. However, I have yet to find a solution I am happy with […]
